Cross kontrare started as just fun when ( singer) Jay Moeller and I, Dennis Mescall(guitars), would get together and jam for fun on a Saturday night. I would go to his house after work, and we would play untilthe wee bit hours of the night . At the time I was in this half Nirvana, half punk band and he was in a twopiece Satanic thing. One day we had gotten a little out of hand with some liquid ,and decided that we should start playing with each other. We thought it would be a good idea because we had the same musical interests. We started calling are self selves the (experimental band )so no one would get upset ,but adventually wequit the other bands and joined forces. At first like I said it was all for fun, but something happened when we (Jay and I ) wrote the first experimental bandsong . The name of that song was “Scared” it was the start of the biggest dream in our lives.

Myself and Jay were getting sick of playing by ourselves and wanted to step it up a notch, so we started looking for a drummer. The first person was Jay’s first drummer Alex . Alex had this little problem of coming to practice so we kicked him out. Then we had Matt Bentley, he was in my previous band and as you can guess , kicked to the curb, yup thats right gone . Jay and I were just sitting around at his house trying to think of who else plays drums,and We couldn’t think of anybody. The next day in school through the grape vine we found another person. Ya know there'ssomething about those kids that no one likes . Those people are the ones we tend to get along with the best.Anyways that poor soul we found was poor innocent, eagle scout David Carlson- Wittwer. That guy was a virgin when we got him, but we broke him in. There was something about all of us playing together, it was magic. One night we ventured up to the Java Joint to hang out and see a band. The show was not that cool so we went outside to meet people and low and be hold we met Adam Huff our future bass player.He didn’t work out . Then we had a girl Jaimee. Something with her wasn’t right . All the searching ended when we found Ron Alman.The video game nerd that had no musical back ground now had one. It all happened one day at my house when He said,”If you guys need a bass player I’ll do it !”What Ron didn’t know was that He had two weeks to learn all the songs . It all worked out .There’s only so many people who you can just pick up instruments and play with. He’s stayed in the band .Which is kind of weird If you think about it with our luck with bassplayers. Well all of this shows how much a band changes and alot of stuff (people) isn’t forever.
